We seek to preserve truth while protecting the privacy of our customers. Our customers trust us for accuracy, but also to ensure that their data is protected entirely.

We speak about Privacy often because this is core to our beliefs at Alice. We are a set of professionals with a wealth of experience from leading businesses in the tech industry. We have seen firsthand how businesses handle customer data, how they craft Privacy Policies and how a customer's data ultimately still becomes exposed due to a breach or even through legal process. Through our connections throughout the industry, we know these patterns are pervasive.

We have designed Alice differently - to buck this trend. And we will continue to build features into our products, both seen and unseen, to empower you to make the most of this technology without the tremendous fear of a breach of privacy.

Only What We Need to Know

Our relationship with you starts with a form of contact. But even in that form, we ask only for an email address. We don't ask for name, company, title or anything that is not necessary for us to handle the business that you ask of us. Our payment provider may ask for required information to process your payment, but this is never stored in our systems - and in the future, there will be methods of payment that may not require personal information.

Data is Only Where it Needs to Be

Moving data around unnecessarily puts our customers at more risk. Whenever it's transmitted at Alice, we make sure it's for a good reason. We're absolutely going to send it to you, but using secure protocols - and only when needed. We work to maintain our services to the highest standard and information about our customers is valuable - we go to great lengths to avoid sending that data to vendors who don't respect your data like we do.

Deletion by Default

One of our core features is a retention policy for your data. It belongs to you, so we email it to you as soon as it's ready (some larger files may need to be downloaded). But we don't need to keep it - you can configure a retention policy that deletes data automatically, such as 30 days after transcription. That data will be permanently deleted, too - it won't wait in the trash bin for 30 days, waiting to be subpoenaed - it'll be gone, irreversibly.

We've built our careers building technology using top-notch security practices. Our leadership has kept companies secure during several IPOs and have held leadership positions in an even larger number of companies listed on stock exchanges around the world. We built Alice fully expecting to keep it secure for the long term.

Encryption, Everywhere, and More of it to come

Encrypted at rest and encrypted in transit - always. And with upcoming features like end-to-end encryption, the only eyes that see your data will be you. We're also working to certify our business using industry-standard programs such as SOC2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO27001.
